The host has to navigate to %localappdata%\FactoryGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Game.ini and add the following lines to the end of that file: Should both the host and client/s have NAT: Moderate or Open, joining sessions should be normally possible.Īdditionally, ensure Windows Firewall rules weren't refused when asked for permission.įor more than four players to be able to play in one session simultaneously, the game's config has to be edited. It might be necessary to configure the network in some scenarios, notably on NAT: Strict, which disallows hosting sessions and allows joining sessions only on NAT: Open. There are no plans for a "Public" option, due to griefing concerns. Attempting to join the session via Session ID will result in it not being found. Private - Clients can only join the hosted session if invited using in-game invites. This also allows Session ID to be used, regardless of friend list status. Friends Only - Allows anyone in the host's friend list to join the hosted session from the Join Game menu without invitation. The following session privacy settings are available: To start a player-hosted multiplayer session, the host has to start an online session (a normal session like when playing in single-player, as long as the host has internet access and authentication servers are working normally) and then allow other players to join, or to invite those players (see sections below). A player can host a session or a dedicated server can be used. Every other game launcher did not take 1 year to implement a bandwidth limiter but of course EA does, and apparently more than 1 year since it has already been 1 year and the feature still is not there.ĮA has to hire the most incompetent people for something as basic as this still is missing, and not because they forget, they have been reminded about the lack of such necesary feature by the users, THEY KNOW users not only want it, THEY NEED IT.Currently there are 2 ways to play multiplayer.

Is an already released software with SLOW development cycle, we are not getting a beta or an early release, we are getting the full thing, and IT SUCKS. But this is not a "still in development" software. That's the point of giving users early access to the software, to see what works and what not, to quickly evaluate the ideas and problems, implement ones, remove others. One would expect that because it STILL is in development, it would be faster to deliver BASIC features vs a fully released software that requires committee approval and all that BS EA loves to * their features with. Has been ONE YEAR, 12 MONTHS and this feature still is not on EA Play. "Keep in mind that the EA app is still in development and more features will be implemented over time"
